Optimus Prime decides to talk to Galvatron, hoping that the Autobots and Decepticons can join forces to defeat Unicron, but Galvatron suspects that it's all a trap. While the two leaders are fighting, Starscream appears and attacks Galvatron, in a surprisingly heroic moment, he sacrifices himself to show both sides what the important thing is: defeating Unicron, and in a desperate attempt, tries to attack Unicron. He unfortunately fails and is killed by Unicron. To make matters worse, Sideways subsequently appears and steals the Star Saber from Galvatron and Optimus Prime before fleeing back to Unicron's heart. Alexis succumbs in grief over Starscream's death, nevertheless, his last role finally prompted alliance between the Autobots and Decepticons.
