It is Halloween, and Edward is telling a scary story about a ghost engine. Sir Topham Hatt assigns Thomas, Duck and Percy to pick up a scrap delivery from the smelters yard and bring it to the docks. Thomas humourously teases Percy for being scared, and when an engine is needed to collect the final load, Duck volunteers Thomas to get back at him. However, as soon as Duck and Percy exit, Thomas gets spooked by the sights and sounds of the smelters, and eventually flees after accidentally setting off an old steam whistle. Percy finds Thomas and forgives him for his teasing and the two friends begin to happily watch the fireworks together.
