Crosshair is assigned to Lieutenant Nolan and travels to a remote Imperial outpost on Barton-4 under the command of a clone named Mayday. The outpost is attacked, resulting in two cargo crates containing classified cargo getting stolen. Nolan orders Crosshair and Mayday to retrieve the stolen cargo. The two clones eliminate the raiders and find the stolen cargo, only to discover that the classified cargo is Stormtrooper armor. However, an avalanche forces the two clones to abandon the cargo and mission. Mayday is fatally injured in the avalanche, and Crosshair is able to pull him from the snow and carry him to the outpost. Upon arriving at the outpost Nolan refuses to provide a medic for Mayday, and Mayday succumbs to his injuries. Crosshair, fed up with Nolan's arrogance and disrespect of clones, shoots and kills Nolan before collapsing and losing consciousness. Later, Crosshair wakes up in a Mount Tantiss medical room, where Emerie Karr orders him to cooperate with her if he wants to survive as he undergoes a procedure.
