Emilia walks through the dream world with Echidna, encountering the memory of the Princess Room from her childhood home in the forest. Mother Fortuna is revealed to be her aunt that used to take care of her in her parents' place while they're busy. Emilia follows a spirit guide to town where Fortuna is, witnessing members of the witch cult deliver donations of books and clothing to the locals. Petelgeuse asks Fortuna about 'the seal' and she responds saying 'the seal' is fine, and that Emilia's parents would be cross if anything happens to it. Emilia continues to sneak out of the Princess Room from time to time, yet again eavesdropping on Fortuna and Petelgeuse who comes back every once in a while for deliveries and to ask about 'The Seal'. Out of curiosity, Emilia asks the spirit guide to direct her to 'The Seal'. Finding the seal to be a large black door in a middle of a clearing Emilia is disinterested. Young Emilia then gets led by the spirits to cross paths with Petelgeuse and Fortuna. Echidna tells Emilia this is where the trial will challenge her. Fortuna discovers Emilia is a spirit user while Petelgeuse accidentally mentions Emilia's parents have passed away. Fortuna promises Emilia that they will talk about her parents one day, but before Emilia could return to her Princess Room, the Sin Archbishop of the Witch of Greed, Regulus Corneas confronts them.
