After their consideration, the Cutie Mark Crusaders attempt to create a relationship between their schoolteacher Cheerilee and Apple Bloom's older brother Big McIntosh, for Hearts and Hooves Day with a love potion. However, they discover too late that the recipe is for a love poison, making the two unable to do anything else beyond thinking about the other. The Crusaders barely manage to keep the two out of eyesight of each other for an hour, breaking the spell. They apologize to Cheerilee and Big McIntosh, and as punishment, the three take up Big McIntosh's chores for the entire day.
