Rei runs out the shogi hall, while Smith and Shimada discuss that Rei is inexperienced at reading his opponents. As Shimada now focuses on his upcoming match against Gotō, Smith returns to his apartment in order to take care of his stray cat. Rei obsessively goes over the game records in his bed.
