As Lou does her homework, a stray kitten jumps through the open window into her room and straight into Lou's heart. She would prefer to keep the kitten. Unfortunately, her mother wouldn't be too keen because Emma has been terrified of cats ever since she got her face scratched as a child. However, since the cat refuses to walk again, Emma has no choice but to overcome her cat trauma.
