I Wanted Someone to Stay Beside Me.Haruka and Kanata were born from two separate fathers. After Haruka's father Shō Saigusa was arrested for attempted murder, the Futaki family took control of the Saigusa family. The family ultimately chose Kanata to be heir, while Haruka was blamed for everything. This urged Haruka to make trouble for Kanata, causing Kanata to get scolded for not keeping Haruka in line. Her friends reassure Haruka that they would never abandon her despite now knowing the truth. Haruka regains her smile after baseball practice with her friends. Kanata soon warns Haruka not to involve her friends in any trouble. The next day, Haruka bakes chiffon cakes and gives some to Riki and Rin, but they come out bone dry. Riki and Rin then accompany Haruka to see Shō in order to confirm if he is her father, but he refuses to answer. Later that night, Riki tells Kanata that he wants to help Haruka just like he was helped in the past, but he apologizes for his arrogance. The following day, Haruka presents Riki with some chiffon cakes that she baked, surprisingly tastier than the last time. However, this was merely Kanata disguised as Haruka, who then shows up in shock.
