An introductory sequence shows Keiichi brutally beating his friends, Rena and Mion, to death with a baseball bat. In the present day, Keiichi and his parents moved to the village of Hinamizawa, where he spends his days with his friends and fellow games club members Rena, Mion, Satoko, and Rika. Mion and Rena give Keiichi a tour of the village and the three have a picnic with Rika and Satoko. Later, he accompanies Rena to help her retrieve a fast food restaurant mascot statue from the Dam Construction Site...
