Rex travels to the ruins of the castle in Abysus to recover a meta-nanite located in its lower levels. Along the way, he is reunited with Circe, and gains the reluctant allegiance of Biowulf, who has taken command in Van Kleiss's absence. Black Knight and Providence attack Abysus in a massive siege, but together, Rex and the Pack are able to repel the assault. However, Providence then lifts the entire castle from the ground, forcing Rex to flee with the meta-nanite as Circe and the Pack are captured by Providence.
