Dr. Holiday and a group of Providence scientists perform an experiment onboard a space station in an attempt to develop an algorithm to cure EVOs, but the program only causes the nanites to self-destruct. ZAG-RS then takes over the station, intending to use the algorithm to destroy all nanites on Earth. With the scientists kept hostage on the station, Rex rendezvouses with them via a space elevator and aids Holiday in preventing ZAG-RS from acquiring the program. ZAG-RS seizes control of a robot and attempts to prevent Rex and Holiday from escaping the station as it hurtles toward Earth, but Rex and Holiday successfully escape just as the station burns up in the atmosphere.
