There's a new girl in town named Loretta Lequigly who says she is from Yakestonia and can speak the language. Loretta catches Skeeter's eye and Doug is convinced that Loretta is a liar, and Skeeter is believing everything she says. With help from Fentruck, Doug sets out to expose Loretta's deceit. Though Loretta admits she isn't fluent in Yakestonesian, she turns out to be not as big a liar as she seemed, and Doug learns a lesson about judging people too soon.
