The group camps in a desert and during the night Joe and Gomamon seem to have disappeared into thin air and so Taichi and Agumon start looking for them in the surrounding area, but they find a water tap and then meet a Digimon named Nohemon, the guardian of the water, which warns them that their friends have split up and have taken different paths. So Agumon and Taichi have to split up in turn to look for them, but since the boy would be helpless without his partner, Nohemon decides to escort him. During the journey, Nohemon explains to his companion that his friends must have gotten into trouble looking for water and ended up in the clutches of two bands of Digimon that rule these wastes...
