Description

Simon the Superb / The Sub.Simon the Superb: Simon's fledgling magic show does not attract any audiences and is mocked by Alvin, and things soon get worse when Alvin finds a book of magic tricks before setting up his own show, which quickly builds success thanks to his showmanship. Upset, Simon challenges Alvin in front of everyone to a magic duel and humiliates him. Alvin is amazed, but Simon tells him that he set up the whole situation with help from their friends, even down to writing the book that Alvin found, just to get back at him and simultaneously build up an audience.
The Sub: Alvin needs money, so he becomes substitute music teacher for Miss Smith. However, he proves to be a poor teacher and quickly gives up to just have fun with his students. When the time to perform in front of an audience comes, however, he panics but manages to reach a deal with the students so that they accept to learn a bit. The performance proves to be pretty poor, but the Chipmunks' and Chipettes' vocals make up for it somewhat and Alvin gets to keep his job.
